Not menstruating at the time of a Colposcopy, used to investigate abnormal smears, is helpful. If you are on the Pill, you can delay your period by ignoring the sugar tablets and moving to the next active tablet. Only if, in Dr. Jalland's opinion, it would be essential in helping define and manage your presenting problem, or a cervical screening test is required. That opinion will be explained but no examination would proceed without your permission. A chaperone is available if requested.
