My dog's not great about water, is it still worth trying hydro?

Don't worry, not all dogs like the water but we have ways to make it fun for them and to also help them feel safe. It just takes a little patience and perseverance. I've helped dogs who have hated the water but they love doing hydro!

My dog is people friendly but not animal friendly, are there lots of other dogs around?

Accepted Answer

I like a calm and stress free environment for the doggos who I'm lucky to meet so I allow plenty of time around appointments to keep interaction as minimal as possible. It's rare that you'll see another dog when you visit anyway as the comfort of your doggo is my utmost priorty - just let me know before your visit what your dog likes and dislikes.

Question 3

My dog has skin allergies, can we still do hydrotherapy?

If you know for certain that your dog has a reaction to chlorine, give me a call and we'll chat as to the degree of irritation. I have many doggos who come for rehab who have skin allergies or conditions. We don't always know if the chlorine will aggrevate those skin conditions so I automatically rinse them thoroughly with a vitamin c shower - this kills 99.9% of chlorine and chloramines!

Question 4

My dog is old, will it be too exhausting for him/her??

The oldest doggo I treat is 16 years old! Yes, he doesn't move like he used to but the great thing about hydrotherapy is that it's extremely gentle. I will work within your beautiful doggo's capabilities as each session is re-evaluated before we even get into the water. You'll be amazed at what they can do in the water compared to the land.

Do you have a pool or a treadmill?

I have an underwater treadmill. It's a lot more controllable than a pool. There are many conditions where we need weight bearing exercise so a treadmill is perfect for this. However, I can actually swim the majority of dogs in the treadmill - it's just done in a different way but it's still way more controllable than a pool.

Can I do hydro with my puppy?

Definitely! Hydrotherapy is amazing for dogs who need rehab, for dogs who need more exercise than their owners can keep up with as well as fast growing puppies!
