Doctor Phillip Katelaris is an internationally and nationally trained urological surgeon with more than 25 years’ experience. He has trained as a general and abdominal surgeon and then sub specialised in the field of urological surgery. He has also received Postgraduate surgical training in Germany. Dr Katelaris has received numerous awards for his practice, including the prestigious Noel Newton medal from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He also received the Keith Kirkland Prize from the Australian and New Zealand Urological Society. Some of the more prominent work conducted by Dr Katelaris includes his research into prostate cancer, particularly with respect to the application of magnetic resonance imaging technology to early and accurate diagnosis.
