About Lumholtz Lodge
A naturalist's paradise 100km south west of Cairns, Lumholtz Lodge is a homestay at a spacious, comfortable home overlooking 160 acres of lush private rainforest with hours of idyllic walking trails. Live amongst the resident Lumholtz tree kangaroos, possums, wallabies and rainforest birds. Your hostess is Margit Cianelli, a former zookeeper at Germany's Stuttgart Zoo and now a wildlife carer. Rehabilitated rainforest animals are released in her forest. Margit regularly hosts naturalists and groups of nature professionals. She has extensive knowledge of the rainforests and has a wide network of contacts in these fields. Lumholtz Lodge has an impressive nature library covering a broad range of flora and fauna, including research papers. Fully catered meals, international cuisine, wildlife guiding and spotlight tours make your visit truly special. Whether one or six people, the Lodge is for your use exclusively - no other groups are taken during your stay.
