Magnetic Island Taxis

Terrible, they let me down, canceling my 5:00 am ride. No way to get to the ferry except walk, with 2 suitcases. Terrible!

Excellent service from Magnetic Island taxi service. Easy to book. Text to advise taxi arrival. Easy to call and organise a ride. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Do not use this taxi service. Appalling. We phoned for a taxi at Nellie Bay (not at the ferry terminal). We were told there were no delays and it would be there immediately. 45 minutes later no taxi. A local person offered to take us to our lodging. She said taxis on the island often took 1 hour to show up. We declined, wanting to do the right thing by taxi. Re-phoned taxi service. They said the taxi was 600 metres down the road and would be there immediately. Never showed up. 20 minutes later another local woman, Jacqui, kindly offered to take us to our lodging, and we gratefully accepted.

Really poor service. The call centre is in Hobart and when I asked how long it would take and what type of cab should I look out for they didn't know. The bus service from Horseshoe Bay to the ferry stops between 11:40 and 1 pm on Sunday you would think they would put more taxi services on and maybe even advertise at the gelato shop near the bus stop as there is no internet so you can't google the taxi cab number. But it took 33 mins to arrive

Phone a d was told to leave my number and name and they would call back. Never got a call

Horrible service, driver doesn’t care and will skip the queue instead of picking up in order. Island is very small yet been waiting over an hour for a cab we were apparently next in queue for

Absolutely terrible service, said that the taxi would be along shortly but 45min later it had not arrived. The worst part about the experience was that they told us it had one more run to go before collecting us so after the first ph call to find out where it was after waiting 15 min it would be there in 5min. We ph again 15min later and were told driver was not taking passenger in allocated wait order. Very, very disappointing.

Booked taxi day before to next morning 5.30AM so we could catch up ferry 6.10. 5.35 I got call "It's early and someone should have told you that taxis start after 5.30AM on Magnetic Island Taxi shows up around 6AM and guy didn't seem to be in hurry. We barely made it to ferry and driver says at terminal that he prefers cash when I'm offering to pay with card I prefer public transport because this wasn't worth of hazzle.

Dont bother booking- they dont show up

Called to enquire about getting a cab to gauge whether or not we would be able to make it back to the ferry terminal in time for the next ferry. All I was doing was asking whether we would make it or whether we would need to plan to catch the ferry after. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and made me feel that I was inconveniencing her throughout the whole phone call. She repeatedly said we needed to pre book an hour in advance and I told her that I was only asking if it was possible. She then booked a taxi and said we would have to hope for the best. I told her that we didnt want to be stuck for 2 hours at the terminal so we would leave it for now and she hung up. It was an extremely unpleasant experience and wont be using the magnetic island taxis because of it.

Waited over half an hour after booking taxi. When we called to enquire about how long it would be we were told it could be another 45min.
