We bought a Miele washing machine ($549) with a 3 month warranty as advertised on gumtree. It stopped working repeatedly for a few days and then started again and showed 5 different technical errors. Doug, the owner, attempted to fix it numerously to no avail. He did not know what was wrong, and we suspected an internal leak disrupting the electronics.
After repeated call outs, we asked for a replacement and he offered another machine as a direct swap with no warranty. I saw that he was advertising that same make and model on gumtree for $450. I offered to pay $500 to get an extended warranty for 6 or 12 months on the cheaper machine. He declined and did not want to give me a warranty and said I would just keep phoning him with more problems, as if the errors were my fault. He was rude, patronising and had a very poor customer service manner.
I was frustrated he was trying to offer me a cheaper machine with no better benefits. He then offered another Miele of the same make and again I asked him for at least a 3 month warranty. He declined. Unfortunately I then had to fight to get my refund as he wanted to charge me a pick up fee. He could have kept my money if only he gave me a reasonable replacement machine and some warranty protection. After 3 months of hassle I at least wanted to ensure I did not get another dud. When he finally paid me he did not transfer from his agreed Suncorp account to mine which again meant more delay. Antagonistic.
The machine was faulty and that is understandable, the poor customer service was not. The one star was for the lovely delivery gentlemen Steve who repeatedly apologised when ever he came to pick up or drop off the machine. I spent 3 months trying to resolve this matter and remained cordial and patient.... until my husband blew up at him to just return our money already after they fetched the machine without the promised refund and then attempted deductions.... As the machine was removed it leaked a huge amount of water from the internals. Point made.... IT WAS NOT MY FAULT, it was a dud!! Life happens, but an antagonistic attitude is a choice. Not recommending this company.
