About Mavericks on the Bay

Open 7 Days a week 12:00pm till late, Mavericks on the Bay is the place to go if you want a delicious restaurant-style meal in Port Stephens. Nestled right on the edge of d'Albora Marina, our experienced chefs and friendly staff will spoil you with delicious seafood selections including Sydney rock oysters, Crispy skin salmon and prawn linguini. If you're after some entertainment, you can kick up your heels with some great live artists performing on Friday and Saturday nights from 8:00pm and Sunday afternoons from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Ordered hunter valkey steak cost was $48 This steak was barely edible full of gristle

If you want to be treated like lower class citizens then this is the place for you. Asked the waiter if he could wipe the table on arrival and his reply was "that's not gonna happen for a while mate". While ordering drinks I asked the bar service what time the kitchen closed and was advised 9.30. While ordering oysters at the food counter I also asked the food service what time the kitchen closed and was also advised 9.30. When we did go to order at 8.55 we were told by a very young and very rude Bar manager that the kitchen was closed. When I asked why all the other staff advised of a 9.30 close he replied that's not possible. After an almost heated argument he said "alright what do you want". No more than 3 minutes later our modified food arrived, and the battered fish was overcooked and uneatable. Completely hopeless.

the seafood risotto tasted weird very bad combo of flavour and expensive for a rice dish and the seafood grill was tasteless wasn't fresh salmon looked like frozen salmon and the rest of the seafood was tasteless but salad included was nice i would not recommend this place
