Frequently Asked Questions

What is underpinning?

Underpinning is a specialized construction technique employed to strengthen and stabilize existing foundations. This is achieved through the strategic implementation of engineered structural support, utilizing either reinforced concrete piers or concrete-reinforced screw piles to transfer the structural load to deeper, more competent strata.

How do you jack a property?

Using the newly constructed support piers, hydraulic jacks are placed strategically on top. Levels are monitored throughout the structure while jacking is underway. Once at the desired height, the area between the support pier and the existing foundation is permanently supported by the use of concrete/non-shrink grouts.
