This weekend was the first time I have visited the Newcastle Flower and Food Markets.I was surprised how small the premises was and pricing seemed to be a bit expensive. The coffee was good but the produce did look a bit tired.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Jess and Franco are the owners and are always so lovey when I come in every morning for my coffee and pastry. A one stop shop where I can grab my fresh produce, sourdough, milk, eggs and meat. The fact that Jess sources only Australian and local is admirable especially over these crazy times

We were recently looking for a place to take our dad for Fathers Day. We were recommended that we call the Newcastle Food and Flower Markets. I called and spoke with a very helpful lady names Jess. She went through some lovely options as my father is Gluten Free. We visited last Sunday and this place is so beautiful. I admit we hadn't heard about it however, my dad was in awe of the Greenhouse and mum went straight into the flower markets where she chose some blooms and the girls put together a beautiful Dried Arrangement for her. The food was amazing and the coffee was event better. I give it a 5*

We recently visited the Food and Flower Markets after following them for sometime. We walked into the cafe to be greeted with friendly and attentive staff. The Pumpkin Bruscetta was to die for and the coffee was delicious. From the way the food market is styled with Fresh and Local produce to the incredible Flower Market space. We were greeted by a lovely girl names Amber who gave us wonderful advice on the florals we chose and the indoor plant we purchased. I can only rave about this place and highly recommend to anyone visiting Sandgate. We will be making this a weekly visit.

I recently visited the Newcastle Flower and Food Markets with my wife. Whilst in the Flower area we over heard a staff member making fun of a customer who had a speech impediment. My wife and I were shocked. After much deliberation we decided to contact the owner and inform them of the staff members actions. However, then the owner stated that none of her staff would have done that. My wife and myself both witnessed what the staff member had done. My wife was extremely upset and crying after speaking to the owner on the phone. The owner made my wife feel like the offender and that she didn’t believe her. Needless to say, we will never go to the Newcastle Flower and Food Markets again nor will we advise any of our family, friends or people with a disability to do so

Through a referral from a friend, i visited the Newcastle flower market. I must say, on arrival, the flower market didn't quite live up to its name. It wasn't really a "market" more like a small collection of flowers. I did manage to purchase a selection for home. Unfortunately, 2 days after purchase the flowers were all drooping. I have purchased flowers in the past from a flower shop and consider the quality to be much better. Reluctantly, i called the Newcastle flower market to discuss my disappointment. can't repeat on this forum the language coming out of the woman's mouth who i spoke with (Jessica from memory), we all have bad days, but this kind of behavior is totally unacceptable. Needless to say, i won't be shopping there. again
Dear Sally A, thank you for your review. This is highly disappointing reading this. Disappointing as I know this is an absolute lie. My name is Jessica and I am the owner and the person who you are referring to. I would never talk to anyone using irate language especially to a client nor would my staff. We have a happy place here at the markets and ensure we give each of our clients a lovely experience when visiting. I'm sorry we didn't live up to your expectations however depending on what day you came in we have more flowers out on certain days. As you can also appreciate flowers are perishable and having an abundance of blooms daily is just not viable for any business. Sally, you say you called me and stated your disappointment. When was this? I don't recall speaking to any Sally on the phone over the last 2 weeks. I know this as we record in a book each client we speak with. If you would like to ACTUALLY call me and speak with me directly you can do so on my mobile which I'm sure you have. I wish you all the best in life and hope that we make your next experience a lovely one. Love and light Sally A. Jessica
