Our team of Gosford physiotherapists provide individuals with evidence-based, up-to-date treatment options to alleviate your pain and get you back to full fitness and function as soon as possible. At Physiozest we provide longer treatment sessions, 60 minutes for an initial appointment and 45 minutes for a follow up appointment, to allow a thorough assessment of your individual injury, quality treatment and home exercise planning. Kirrily Curran graduated from the university of Newcastle in 2008. Since this time Kirrily has spent her time working in various private practice clinics on the Central Coast, working with sporting teams including touch football, net ball, rugby league and the Australian U21 surf life saving team. Kirrily has a passion for sporting injuries, and knows all too well the heartache of missing time on the field as a NSW touch football, net ball and Australian Oztag player herself. It is this passion that has motivated Kirrily to undertake her Masters of Sports physiotherapy through La Trobe University in Melbourne. Kirrily has now taken her clinical experience and further tertiary education into her own business, physiozest, to provide individuals with personalised and knowledgeable care. Kirrily is registered with the national registration board AHPRA.

Services

  • Physiotherapy:

  • Physiotherapy encompasses a wide range of services including listening, assessing, problem solving, diagnosing and treating individual and unique injuries and conditions. It is a physiotherapists goal to find the cause of an injury or dysfunction and return an individual to their optimal movement and function.

  • Dry needling:

  • Dry needling is a tool used to alleviate pain and restore function. dry needling is a gentle, generally pain free insertion of a very fine acupuncture needle into muscle or fascia. The insertion of the needle stimulates tight muscle, increases blood flow, and stimulates pain relieving nerve fibres. When dry needling is performed by a skilled practitioner, it is a very effective treatment tool to help restore normal muscle function.

  • Taping / Bracing:

  • Physiotherapists use taping techniques or braces to aid in rehabilitation after an injury, for example after an ankle sprain.

  • Exercise / Movement Re-training:

  • Following injury or pin, the body can adapt to move in a non-optimal way. This may be necessary in the acute painful situation but not always a good thing for the long term. We provide a full body assessment, looking at functional movements related to your pain or injury and provide exercise to retrain your optimal movement patterns to reduce pain or improve function.

  • Running Analysis:

  • Whether you have a running injury or want to improv e your technique, at physiozest we can help. With simple cues or change in footwear we can work together to improve or re-train your run style to prevent injury or improve efficiency.
