We used Place Designs recently for a new house plan and were very impressed with the professional service. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the design process for us very easy and stress free. I would highly recommend Place Designs.

He has many years of experience in building design and has exceptional knowledge of council regulatory, building guidelines and engineering requirements. We had several meetings with Glen and he always on time. He listened to our ideas, and requirements. He always gave us multiple options to consider which allowed us to make the right decisions. He made several amendments until we were happy with the final plan. He even made one last minute change without any hesitation. His work is thorough and detailed. We needed a quick turnaround on an industrial extension with tight deadlines and Glen from Place Designs was happy to deliver. This project had to be designed, certified and constructed before the Christmas closure to enable the tenant to move in and start trading in Early January. Place Designs was honest with their time frames and costs and delivered in both regards. Place Designs plans are always easy to read and complete which enabled us to meet our deadlines. Glen and his team are very knowledgeable and have vast experience in the building industry and this is evident in their delivery. We have had Glen from Place Designs design a garage extension. We have found him to be very prompt, professional and very sound with his advice. He works co-operatively with the builder and engineer. Would recommend him to anyone.

Place Designs is my designer of choice. We are currently undertaking a new pool install , pool fencing, and certification of our outdoor area extension. Glen provided the requested documentation within 24hrs of attending site to assist us in speeding the process of approval. I recommend Glen & his team, as they understand the requirements of the people on the ground who want to get things done.

We decided to build an observation platform to enhance our view of the Whitsunday Islands from our "modern Queenslander" designed by Gabriel Poole. Our builder, Barry Green, agreed with our concept of a small room at the top of a spiral staircase and recommended we ask Glen Place to design a structure which would be strong but not detract from the appearance of the house. Glen's design of the spiral staircase was very much better and more practical than one designed originally for us by a southern company. He was able to collaborate with the local fabricator, Halliwell Fabrications, our builder and others to produce just what we wanted and also meet council requirements.

We used Glen Place from Place Designs to do the building design work for us to add a covered outdoor area and to remove an internal wall that was both supporting and a tie-down wall. Glen did an excellent job. Two major motivating factors for us were that Glen was the original designer of our house over 20 years ago (so we knew that his work worked!) and that he also included the engineering work in his scope. Both Glen and the engineer had a flexible approach to achieving the necessary structural integrity whilst meeting our aesthetic wishes. We are very pleased with the final result and would definitely use Place Designs again for work on our current house or another one.

We would highly recommend Glen Place & his team to anyone wishing to build a new home, being new to Mackay Glen was able to help us with the local council rules & regulations and he was upto date within the building regulations and requirements. Glen's knowledge of the local area also helped us to overcome some land obsticals that presented themself during the plan layout. Glen listened to what our budget and personal requirements were to come up with our final plans. We are extremely happy with the finish of our home.
