There are a great many superlatives that one could draw from to describe how happy we are with the pool, how much we appreciative all the hard work that went into the construction phase and how professional and friendly all your team were. However, we think that this experience can be summed up by saying, that when asked if we would recommend Pools by Design to construct a pool for friends and family, our reply, without hesitation is a resounding yes!...in a heartbeat. Thank you to all, it has been an absolute pleasure. Our pool is quite wonderful and definitely the centrepiece of our new home.

Only after engaging QBCC we were able to get pools by design to complete our pool. Their associate contractors Moonah Landscapes were even worse, leaving us a catalogue of damages that we're still correcting.

18 months since the pool was originally completed, we have managed (with they help of QBCC) to finally get all of the defects completed. Communication was terrible, they seemed to come and go as they pleased, continually missing agreed milestones. They did make good on their promise to have the pool completed by Christmas (2016) by 3 days. I can't possibly recommend this company. The owner tries hard but his communication problems continually let him down.

What is the difference between an in-ground concrete pool and a fibre glass pool?

Different structure of the walls and floor i.e. fibreglass has just an approximately 20mm thick wall of fibreglass, compared to a concrete pool which has a 200mm concrete section interlaced with steel reinforcing at least every 300mm apart. It then has an internal water proofing layer of either 20mm pebble crete (pebble and cement) or a layer of ceramic tile.

What does the price of a swimming pool include?

A Pools by Design Quote includes the following: –The design of the pool by your pools designer–The engineering of your pool structure–Pool certification and final approval–All superior fittings–All pump, filtration and initial chemical treatment–Coping on pool edge–Chemicals required for starting up the pool–An estimate of any footings if we think that they will be required–Backwash line for 6L/m.
