Rel Auto Repairs

I had the good fortune to happen across this family-run business recently. Louis and his wife Lisa manage the place together, and I found them to be honest, professional and warm (warmth is an under-rated quality, but it makes the pain of shelling out bucks easier) Louis fixed my car at a very reasonable cost, and did an exceptional job. Lisa was kind enough to drive me home, which saved me walking my little dog miles through hot streets which we both really appreciated. Louis came in slightly under his original quote, even though he worked past his normal closing time to get me back out on the road. I highly recommend this business-it's one of those places where the owner has all sorts of skills and knowledge gleaned through the years, and isn't stuck in the robotic "specialized" unhelpful mould common in the franchises and rip-off merchants all over Australia these days. Give them a go, you wont be sorry.

I have been dealing with REL since I arrived in Wollongong. I can’t understand this woman’s negative review because I’ve had nothing but good experiences here. Louis is professional, knowledgeable and kind. His staff are helpful and well-trained. This is a family concern and the amount of repeat custom here tells me that others are as fairly treated as I have been. I highly recommend REL no matter what your car is or what the problem is. I wouldn’t go anywhere else myself

Worst mechanic ever ripped me off for clutch and clutch wasnt faulty.never will i go back they rip of woman.$2000 i wasted.

Went to get a pink slip this morning ($42) and the mechanic attempted to overcharge me ($68). When I asked why the price was more he instantly said $50 then began to get angry. He walked outside and started my car then walked away, I asked a couple guys near my car if the price sounded right because I was unsure why I paid more then the slip said, these guys were nice to me and said I shouldn’t have been charged $50 for a pink slip. The mechanic from Rel Auto Repairs then yelled at me to get out of his way and started reversing the car towards mine where I reversed out and drove off. I’m very upset at how this guy spoke to me and hope he doesn’t treat all customers like that, it was my first time at a mechanic in Wollongong and I definitely wouldn’t go back from this one awful situation.
