River Cafe

Absolutely wonderful cafe. Super tasty homemade food with incredible prices, staff were really lovely and welcoming. We loved this cafe, so glad we stumbled upon it on our roadtrip!

On the 14/12/19, my family and I attempted to have lunch here at approximately 12.10pm. My brother is an army veteran and has a diability assistance dog. We were refused table service due to the assistance dog, despite her wearing the legally required equipment a neon ASSISTANCE DOG vest and halter. The female Staff member huffed and left to the kitchen upon us producing the veteran diability assistance dog licence. To which a man followed her out ~ saying to my brother *what do you want*. No apology or offering him a table for us to have food. Incredibly rude and ignorant service. I hope the staff will become educated in the Disability Discrimination Act, and treat the disabled with respect in the future. I visited River Cafe at Maclean NSW to buy some coffees etc. on 6/7/14 about 1pm. The customer service was non existent, they never ever acknowledged me at the counter so I eventually walked away, very bad for their business as it doesn't take much to just have some courtesy and ask the customer to just wait a moment that they will be attended to shortly. It was extremely disappointing not to be valued as a customer as it is all word of mouth and surely that is why they are there for the money. They seemed so disorganised and there were a few people there. Customers notice and I still haven't received my coffee! They were more interested in being distracted worry about staff's holiday pay money or something that wasn't professional at the time. I would certainly avoid this cafe if you were in a hurry...
