About RSPCA Gympie Animal Care Centre

RSPCA Gympie Animal Care Centre has been helping to care for our animal friends for many years. We are part of Queensland's oldest, largest and leading animal welfare charity. Functioning as a Gympie dog and cat pound, we not only care for lost and found pets, but also pets needing a new home. Our facility is equipped to house lost pets as the council pound, as well as being a temporary care facility for animals ready for adoption. RSPCA Gympie Animal Care Centre helps to find new homes for more than 500 animals every year. We provide discounted pet microchipping and animal advice for new pet owners. We also have a variety of pet products for sale including flea and worm treatments, pet accessories and care products. Our main commitment is providing the best care for animal welfare in Gympie. Unfortunately this can involve investigating cruelty complaints, but also means connecting animals with loving homes through pet adoption. If you are considering adopting a pet, or would like to make a donation to the RSPCA, come in to RSPCA Gympie Animal Care Centre today.

On Friday morning at 6.20am I rang the RSPCA Animal Emergency. I explained that I had a two year old cat who was paralysed due to a tick, who was underneath the house and that I could not get to him. They said they would have the animal ambulance out to my address. I waited till 9am then rang them again, at 10am I rang them again. At 11am I received I phone call from the RSPCA advising me that they do not service my area. I was eventually assisted by the Volunteer Green Army. If my cat would have stayed underneath the house, he would have died a slow a painful death. But, on Saturday the RSPCA rang me to advise me that I have to take my cat to the vet or else they will come and collect him. meaning I would have to surrender my cat. I am getting mixed messages here, they would not come to my area to save my cat from under the house so that I could administer first aid etc. but they could come to my area on the following day for me to surrender him. I thought the RSPCA were there to help and assist those who truly love and care for their pets.
