Our unique and fully accredited approach does this by helping you to achieve a better understanding of yourself, a more intimate knowledge of your own behaviours and patterns and how you interact with the world around you. Horses have a unique ability to perceive and mirror human emotions, which allows them to provide authentic, instant feedback. This feedback is interpreted by the facilitator and used to help support and direct your learning process. Our approach is not about trying to ‘fix you' or ‘solve' your perceived problems, rather, the horse and the facilitator are gently holding a safe space for you to explore more aspects of yourself. Supporting you as you co-create a new way of being. The emphasis is on learning how to thrive rather than just survive. Here at Skerrett Equine we create an experiential learning environment that allows every participant to become fully engaged in their own unique learning process, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others in the group. All participants are supported to develop important insights and awareness around their own practice as Leaders, Managers and Team Members. We then support the participants in actively exploring these insights through their own engagement with the horses. The result, is the participants can then directly embody these new insights and experiences, allowing them to gain trust in this new way of being. People often attend amazing professional development workshops only to go back to work and discover that nothing has changed. The important difference with using horses for personal development is their unique ability to facilitate life changing and transformative experiential learning.
