The renovations have turned out great which is a testament to the professionalism you and your colleagues have displayed over the past six or seven weeks. The communication, individual skills and work ethic of all those involved in the renovations (including the office staff) has been exemplary. I particularly want to thank Nick who was the man on site for the best part of the project and who was always there to discuss and clear up any of our concerns. He went far and above what was required of him on more than one occasion. You'd do well to make sure you keep him. I would have no hesitation in recommending Smith and Sons as a competent, capable and professionally run company in the field of home renovations and general building repair. We have to admit we were a bit apprehensive about doing the renovations, especially after hearing so many bad stories from other people who have had horrible experiences whilst renovating. We are a young family with another child on the way and required renovations to be completed in both a timely manner and with minimal stress. We have to say, Smith & Sons Wollongong have provided us with a completely stress free experience. We would like to thank you (in particular Tom, Terry, Nick and Brendan) for completing our second story extension on our house. From the moment we requested a quote until it's completion, we received nothing but exceptional customer service. Throughout the entire ordeal Smith and Sons continued to contact us regularly with progress updates and inform us on what was happening and when it would be happening. The renovations were completed efficiently within the time frame allowed with absolutely NO issues. At NO time were we ever lumped with unexpected fees/costs or charges. The quote provided a detailed outline on everything that was included. Surprisingly a draftsman, interior designer, all council fees, site costs and more were included and provided by Smith & Sons which allowed for a completely hassle free experience. We are extremely pleased with the great quality of work provided. We cannot believe the transformation and cannot fault the work which has been done. We would have to say that the entire team went above and beyond. We cannot speak highly enough of everyone involved. The professionalism, customer service and quality was outstanding. Dear Smith & Sons Wollongong, A big thank you to the team at Smith & Sons Wollongong. We had an ensuite/walk in robe area which was too small and really from another era and needed an upgrade. We also had a large area in the middle of the house which had been used as a spa/relaxation area by the previous owners but was really a waste of space and served no real purpose for us. So if we were going to do a renovation, just what do we do. We found Smith & Sons Wollongong and from the outset, they returned my call promptly and offered to do a site inspection. Absolute experts from Day 1 Tom very quickly understood what we needed and came up with some initial concept plans for discussion which ended up to be very close to the final agreed plan – though the initial small job because much bigger as we realised how the 2 areas could be blended into one more significant and cost effective project. Building quotes were very thorough resulting in the agreed price being exactly what it was. Then came the builders under Terrys supervision, again absolute professionals. They arrived on time every day, had co-ordinated their ‘subbies’ so well that they all turned up exactly when we were told they would be there. Terry was there most days, but a big thanks to Nick who was seemingly the job foreman. Both Terry and Nick seemed to take on this job as if it were their own home, and they completed their days with a thorough cleanup and a focus on our security, especially during the partial demolition phase. Thanks to Brendan, the carpenter who just went about his business quietly but with great skill. I was on site on the 3 occasions the Council Certifier did his mandatory inspections and each time he said to me, "if they were all this good I would not have a job". The end result was a magnificent job, delivered on budget and just as importantly with Christmas looming, ahead of schedule. Just a couple more things 1. We decided to do some other additional cosmetic works to the remainder of the house to ensure the new blended with the old. Both Tom & Terry were happy to advise on these matters and fortunately were able to give us access to their sub-contractors to be able to complete these works whilst on site. Again, Terry overviewed all that additional work with the same diligence he applied to the contracted tasks. 2. We are very grateful to Jill Barker, a highly professional interior designer (trading under "Colour Counsel") who gave us great guidance as to colours, design, fittings etc and was very hands on through the process. It is probably fair to say that the Jacksons would still be trying to make decisions in these areas if we did not have access to Jill's expertise. The photo™s you see are right out of Jill's head! Brett of Smith & Sons helped complete a rather large extension to our home. He was amazing. He listened to what we wanted and gave us some valuable advice. The team is general worked so well together and the project seemed to be finished in no time. All in all the extension was completed before the time and under budget - amazing!!
