I asked staff to price match a tile, as they have advertised on their web page “Lowest price guaranteed” and “Many of our competitors will label the exact same tile we stock as something else (we get our tiles from the same wholesaler!), and we are happy to price match these tiles.” Staff were anything but happy to price match. The customer service is as good as their false advertising. I found 5 other companies (4 in the same state and 1 interstate) that were significantly cheaper (even after adding in delivery costs). I don’t know what staff told the owner but he came over and I introduced myself. He then proceeded to tell me he didn’t appreciate the way I spoke to his staff. What the…? I just asked them to price match a tile. He proceeded to inform me that he had changed the web site and was not going to price match the tile and asked me to leave. From my experience I would suggest you window shop here for tile details, then research online. It can save you hundreds of $.
Thanks Joanne, for your comments. Just to clarify for everyone. As discussed with Joanne, several times on the day calmly, we were unable to match the price you had as it was below our cost, and we recommended you went to them to purchase. We told you we were a small family owned business and were not prepared to buy something for you for more than you were prepared to pay for it and therefore make a loss even after all the time we had spent with you helping out with your selection. It is sad for us that after spending all those hours servicing you and helping with your selection, that you thought we should then also make a loss on the job to keep you happy. We would not be able to continue to be here to service our local community if we run at a loss. Due to the conversation with you that day, and you threatening to ruin this business, at which point you were asked to leave, we have been forced to remove that price match guarantee for our valued customers and off our website. Please note - for anyone still reading, the price she had gotten, she had gone direct to an importer/wholesaler of the product who supply to little stores like ours. Support local...support a small family owned business.
