He is a self-confessed AFL tragic, who played football until the ripe-young age of 55 and hasn't yet given up on the prospects of a come-back. He has recently acquired a passion for carpentry and landscaping and even drives a ute complete with timber racks. Dale has been actively involved in the performing arts in Cairns over many years but readily admits to being the lesser light in his family, falling well short of the talents of his wife, son and daughter (who are actually talented).
