About Tropical Vets

Over fifty years Tropical Vets have grown from one practice in Innisfail to a family of nine clinics extending from Ayr to Atherton. We started in Innisfail in the early 1970s and soon began regular trips to Tully, opening our full-time Tully clinic in the early 1990s. Over the next two decades we expanded our services to regular day clinics in Babinda, Cardwell and Mission Beach to provide local facilities to those communities. In 2011, we purchased Dr Paul Rowland's Vet Surgery in Ingham and in 2015 added Dr Ian Merritt's clinic, combining the two into our current Ingham practice. In 2017, we opened a new clinic at North Shore, Townsville to provide small and large animals services for the Townsville and Burdekin regions, and the following year purchased Dr Fred Murray's business in Ayr to maintain permanent clinic services for the local community. Our most recent, northernmost and highest altitude clinic is in Atherton, previously operated as Ready Vet by Dr Matt and Cat Robinson. We opened in April 2021 and are excited to grow this lovely clinic with its wonderful local staff.

visited this clinic quite a few times and my animals have always been well cared for, they have empathy with them and thats something I haven't experienced with other vets on the Tablelands.

I recently needed to have my young dog desexed so I shopped around for prices and found Ready Vets prices very favourable. I was able to have her surgery booked for the following day. I was very impressed with how she came through her ordeal and her pain management. I was phone the next morning to see how she was and was happy to report that she was doing very well. Very happy with the whole service I was given. Thanks to all at Ready Vets.
