My daughter presented at outpatients last night the 09/01/2018 and from her very first greeting was presented by rude nursing staff. She has had a rash for the past 5 days that she has been trying to treat. When it started to spread she became concerned so I advised her to go to outpatients because she is currently working 7 days a week in the food industry and if the rash is contagious then she needs to know, as her duty of care to the community. Where was the Duty Of Care of the 2 nurses on duty last night when they belittled my 20 year old daughter by laughing in her face and continually repeating "so you came to outpatients for a rash at 9 pm at night". She was brought to tears by one of the nurses. When she got home she was very upset, and was feeling very stupid for going to outpatients. She has every right to go to outpatients if she is concerned about something medical. I am disgusted with the treatment she was given last night. How dare they? I am very disappointed.
By the way, my daughter called the hospital first and spoke to a lovely male nurse who advised her to come up to outpatients.
