About Wild Wood
Wild Wood is a smart collection of beautiful wooden cutting, chopping & carving boards & other wood items designed in Australia by Jane & Jonathan. It’s a pretty simple story really, Janie is a great home cook and Jonathan loves helping by prepping things to make it easier in the kitchen (and by eating Janie’s meals of course). In 2004 with three hungry boys to feed we were doing a lot of meals, but couldn’t find a decent wooden cutting board. One that we would like in our kitchen…, stylish, easy on our knives, and one which would always look great even after 10 years of use. We wanted a board that could sit on our benchtop and our friends would say, Wow! that looks great where can I find one?! We couldn’t find what we wanted, so we set about designing and developing our own range for our small family business, Wild Oats Housewares. It was important we develop boards that had a distinct design element borne out of beautiful quality, stylish design and practicality.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I clean my Wild Wood board?
After use, Hand Wash in warm soapy water, then it is best to dry your board in a dish rack or pat it dry. Do not leave your board to dry in the sun as the intense heat caused by the sun could warp your board. Do not soak your board in water, and you should never place it in the dishwasher.
When I use my Wild Wood board, the knife marks the board; is this bad?
Over time and with regular use your board will become ‘scarred’ with fine cuts from your knife. However, these marks will make your board look better over time, and will blend together to make the board look aged and well-used. The cuts in the board will not harbour germs or bacteria as the fibres of the board ‘close over’ and seal off any bacteria, essentially killing it.
