About Bendigo Marketplace

Bendigo Marketplace, owned by ISPT, is a single level sub regional shopping centre in central Victoria located 150km north west of Melbourne. Bendigo Marketplace is anchored by Woolworths and Big W and supported by over 95 specialty stores. The centre is located in the heart of Bendigo along Mitchell Street. The retail mix of the centre includes everyday fashion, lifestyle, services, home wares, general retail, fresh food and takeaway food, with a solid blend of national and local operators. The centre comprehensively services the everyday needs of the primary trade area of Bendigo, but also draws from a large secondary trade area that extends in a 80-100km radius beyond the centre. Bendigo Marketplace first opened it’s doors on the 31st of October 1995. When Bendigo Marketplace first opened it had two majors Big W and Woolworths and a handful of specialty stores. The centre underwent a major development in 2008/2009 which saw the Bendigo Marketplace double in size. This was an exciting time for Bendigo residents who for the first time were offered a complete retail mix locally consisting of Apparel, jewellery, footwear and a large food court with a number of local and national brands.

Great stores & nice people & great place to shop!!But beware of the 3hour parking limit in their Carpark! The carpark is the centres private parking & they get the local council to enforce the 3hour limit by getting the local parking inspectors to come out to their car park on big shopping times like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas & also on rainy days as the parking inspectors must get bored & come out to collect more revenue from the local Bendigo shoppers! There is a sheriff van with flashing lights driving around the underground parking this week targeting shoppers buying Mother’s Day gifts & spending their hard earned money to support the local community & if you stay longer then their 3hours (so don’t indulge too long ) you will get a approx $100 fine in a couple of weeks!!! This is not good for the Shopping centre & not good for Bendigo! The HEADOFFICE management really needs to pull their heads in & look after the customers & stores or there wont be anyone left to shop!
