Darroll started in the industry as a wash-up boy in the early 1960s and continued on through his apprenticeship to become a fully qualified shop butcher, slaughterman, and smallgoods maker and travelled throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia plying his trade wherever he set foot, with his wife Tricia in 1992 bought a butcher shop on the Gold Coast and produced some new and innovating ideas in the area such as value adding and custom catering to a lot of organisations, clubs and private functions. After selling the shop then worked for around 13 years as a sales rep for Denco trading in southeast Qld and then moving
