Discover the thrill of indoor rock climbing, available from Tuesday to Friday between 3:30pm and 9pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. As a dynamic hub in Cessnock, our offerings extend beyond rock climbing to include activities such as boxing, gymnastics, and skateboarding. We started as a steering committe in November 2008 having identified a need for a Men's Shed in the area. After a lot of hard work the Shed was officially opened in February 2011 The name relates to the area postcode of 2322 and that is the area we encompass. The Shed was established with the aim of providing men with a place to be productive, establish new relationships and even just somewhere to have a cup of tea and a chat with someone. Newcastle City Council have allowed us to occupy what was formerly the local tennis club at Beresfield. The premises are not ideal for our purposes but surprisingly we manage to create items for the local community when we are asked to. Not having a dedicated shed limits our ability to make multiple items for sale and this is where we are missing out on an income stream.

Elermore Vale Men's Shed is a non for profit community group in the Newcastle region.

Our Men's Shed was formed on Thursday 23 June 2011 when about 50 people gathered in the Committee Rooms at Port Stephens Council administration building. Our initial Constitution was adopted and our first Board members were elected. On 28 October 2011 some minor changes to the Constitution were adopted to meet the requirements of the ATO and to bring it in line with the Dept of Fair Trading. At this time a change in management structure was adopted changing from a Management Board to a Management Committee. For more details see our History page. On 4 August 2012 our "First Shed" was formally opened by Cr. Glenys Francis and a successful Open Day was held.

The Place-Charlestown Community Centre is a modern, professionally managed, not-for-profit community venue. The Place offers a fantastic range of community rooms for hire. Large halls, meeting rooms, computer lab and commercial kitchen. Fully equipped with high quality technology. Table Tennis, Pool, Foosball and Arcade console available for use. A range of young children's toys also available for hire with the Social Hall. Packages available including half and full day rates. Catering on request. Great Venue for Social Groups and Business Meetings. Commercial Kitchen and Fully Equipped Computer Lab.
