QDN’s work is centred around a strong network of people across Queensland and almost 30 peer support groups which inform, connect, lead, and influence change. We believe there should be ‘nothing about us without us’. We are a vibrant, active network of influencers, decision-makers, spokespeople, consultants, group members and peer leaders with a drive to make change happen. We also work on projects that align with our vision and mission around important issues in the lives of people with disability. The Sunlight Centre provides free crisis counselling sessions for adults and teenagers who are seeking support for suicidality, self-harm behaviours and/or people who have been impacted by a suicide. Our experienced and accredited counsellors are non-judgmental and will offer clients a safe and confidential space to receive skilled support. No Mental Health Care Plan needed from you GP. Self-referrals are welcome. Clients may access up to fifteen free counselling sessions. The Sunlight Centre also provides a series of mental health workshops directed at enhancing mental health literacy and suicide prevention in the community. Please get in touch to enquire about our Youth Mental Health First Aid workshops, Healthy Minds workshop and TALKS Active Listening for Teens program.
