Auramist Lodge was founded in 1974 as a result of a passion of the original owners to foster the well being of pets whilst their owners are otherwise occupied. We are proud to say that this ideal is still very current and as such we aim to look after your 'family members' to the standard that you would in your own home. Auramist Lodge is currently owned by the Roseworne Family and is still very much a family business. Robert Roseworne lives on the premises with his three children and is a willing participant in the Port Stephens community. Having owned and bred show dogs for over 20 years, at times numbering over 25 dogs, Robert is experienced in the care of animals at various stages of their lives. During these years he has owned a number of pedigree cats, specifically exotics. As such, looking after your cats is made easy at Auramist Lodge with cat enclosures that are functional and spacious through careful planning incorporating a modular design. In addition there is a specific day / play area to whittle away the hours. Their feline antics are both expected and welcomed. As a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Animal Behaviour, Robert has made pets his hobby and his chosen profession. As a major exercise, an extensive video surveillance system has been installed to allow you peace-of-mind while you are away from your pets. With quality food being supplied, a safe and welcoming environment and knowledgeable staff that have a genuine interest in the well-being of your pets, we would not at all be surprised if they never want to leave. Specialty accommodation is also offered for snakes, rabbits, mice, ferrets, birds and guinea pigs.

We were very grateful for the kindness, consideration and professionalism whilst Auramist Lodge looked after and transported our elderly relatives dogs on two occasions whilst he was in hospital. They also transported these dogs to Vets and Dog Rescues punctually at time required.

I have boarded my German Shepherd there a few times now and the experience has always been great - very nice people and reasonable rates and best of all they look after your pets the way you would like them too - I think my dog enjoys his stays there and communicating with all the other dogs
