Over the years, it has grown and expanded to include five part-time Managers. The Refuge still relies heavily upon volunteers to assist with the cleaning, dog-walking and maintenance. The Boarding Kennels brings in the finances that are required to maintain the Refuge side of the work. We are a “Low Kill” Refuge, with a euthanasia rate of approximately two animals a year, mainly due to significant ill-health or challenging behaviour that could cause danger. Euthanasia is the very last response after every other possible option has been explored. We are a group of volunteers and staff who are driven by our passion to rescue and rehome animals, and to educate our local community to become responsible pet owners. It is paramount that our animals are cared for in the most compassionate and caring way possible while they wait for their forever homes.
