Christensen's offer both 'Music Discovery' classes for children 4 to 7 years plus Musical Instrument lessons for all ages on guitar, ukulele, keyboard, piano, violin, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and bass guitar. Instrument rental is also available for Christensen's students. Music Discovery Classes (4 maximum per class) : Young children can make the ideal start with music through these exclusive well structured and fun small group classes. Children learn about and gain hands-on experience with many different musical instruments and gain a good basic understanding of essential music theory, signs and symbols. Children's Instrument Lessons (2 to 3 max group classes) : Children of all ages from 6 yrs can learn instrument playing skills through our balanced but easy approach. Our learning material is designed to develop a student's natural 'ear', feel and rhythm abilities (which is overlooked by most schools and teachers), as well as teaching music reading and theory in an easy-to-understand way. Christensen's produce much of their student learning material themselves including enjoyable original songs with play-along accompaniments. Note: We don't do exams which place unnecessary pressure on students and can grossly limit a player's diversity of skills and musical abilities. For adults we offer high quality individual lessons on most instruments. It's never too late to learn an instrument ! The teacher is Rod Christensen who is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, professional musician and music teacher with over 40 years experience including having taught as an instrumental music teacher for Education Queensland. Above all, Rod relates well to children and adults alike. Keryn handles bookings and enquiries, student scheduling, accounts and assists in the production of learning material. We also service and repair most Wind and Brass musical instruments such as saxophones, flutes, clarinets, trumpets and trombones.
