About
Located in Hervey Bay, Warrior Martial Arts offers the Fraser Coast a unique opportunity to build self-confidence whilst developing self-defence skills. What is Aikido? Aikido literally means 'The Way of Harmony and Spirit'. Aikido is basically a combination of Jujitsu and Aiki which relies on movement. My name is Sensei Darrin Beashel and I have trained in Aikido for 10 years and have been instructing for over 6 years. I now run Warroir Martial Arts School where I instruct Aikido in conjunction with weaponry as it enhances the empty hand techniques. I run a mixed 2hr session, first half is weapons Kata and pairs practise with Boken, Shinai and Jo. Then we train in Aikido techniques from various forms of attack. We train in a fully equipped Dojo (training hall) with 90 square metres of matted softfall area, all in a tranquil bush setting. Easy to find, just turn onto Torbanlea Rd from Maryborough/Hervey Bay Rd, then turn right straight away up Old Walligan Rd, then nearly 1k down on the left, just look for the sign.
