Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC) is a new cross-cultural enterprise in the Katherine Region. GYRACC evolved out of the desire of the people of Katherine to have a contemporary meeting place in which to celebrate, learn, create and share culture. Katherine is a meeting place for people from around the region, which covers approximately 400,000 square kilometres and consists of largely of pastoral properties and Indigenous communities. The Katherine community offers a unique mix of cultures with local and rural influences. Indigenous people make up more than 30% of the population.
