Rooms recently refurbished with tasteful tiling, a modern bathroom and serviceable carpet. Access to a central grassed courtyard was appealing and the restaurant-dining area was well appointed and staff were helpful and obliging. The exterior appearance of the motel is equally appealing. Bruce

We called in for lunch at the Iron Horse Inn, and it was a great experience. Their staff are amazing, and so is their beautiful food. We’ll come back again.

Awesome service at both the bar and restaurant for a group of 8. Not to mention the delicious food...rib eye (on bone) cooked to perfection and the full rack of ribs looked absolutely amazing! Finished with a lemon tart and raspberry sorbet, divine!

Benjamas is our popular local Thai BYO restaurant with delicious and authentic food and excellent service. If you want to dine in, make a booking as they get busy. The take away meals are as delicious as as those served in the restaurant and promptly prepared. Try the Chef's Special No. 75!

Nagisa is a favourite for Japanese in Newcastle. The food is fresh, tasty and authentic. A great place to be at lunchtime enjoying the outdoor seating and the harbour views while savouring the flavour of the food. Have also been here for dinner a few times.

The couple operators are the icing on the cake (or the salt on the chips) when you purchase their product. An impeccable little business. These new owners of fourteen months have improved remarkably what was already a quality operation. Their offerings are many and of the best, best, best quality. Their cooking professionalism and freshness of ingredients says it all. Their premises, their interesting little extras and their personal presentation is second to none. A spot on little show worthy of support .

One of the best kept secrets in Port Stephens ... As a coeliac with other food allergies, it can be a 'frustrating' time choosing where to dine, but the 'Cookaburra' staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Had dinner one night on spec. Very busy for a Monday but they squeezed us in. The food was well cooked and presented. It’s a family run business and the great service seems to reinforce that. Highly recommend. Stewart

Live locally, have tried all fish and chips eateries over the years and Saltmine wins hands down. The fish is cooked perfectly, we all had a different type of the cooking, battered, crumbed and grilled. The grilled fish combo made with garlic butter and sweet chilli sauce is the best I have ever had. The owner and all of the staff are polite, friendly and know their menu well. The staff gave us some advice on what we best for our group to order, giving us the best and most economic way to feed a large group of us. As well as fish, a couple of our group ordered burgers. They were fresh and the meat was real mince that actually has some flavour. I would defiantly recommend Saltmine to locals and visitors. You will not be disappointed. Heads up to the owners, your staff are a credit to you.

Fantastic Sunday afternoon early evening spent here. Beautiful bay & boat views, wonderfully polite & helpful staff the service was excellent.
