We promote a positive transition to school and a lifelong love of learning. Our George St Preschool has operated from it's current location since 1956 and caters for 30 children a day. Our homelike environment welcomes children and is adaptable to their needs. Our indoor spaces are full of opportunities to explore books, art, construction, role play plus lots more. Outdoors we have beautiful natural spaces for exploring and creating, and gardens for nurturing and growing. Our Brunswick St Preschool has operated since 1975 and caters for a total of 40 children a day We have a wonderful large outdoor area with open spaces for running, a climbing fort, large covered sandpit and native gardens to explore. Inside is beautifully organised to provide opportunities for art, literacy, constructing, negotiating and creating. We encourage all families to complete a waiting list form before their child's 3rd birthday to avoid disappointment. We cater for children in East Maitland, Ashtonfield, Tenambit, Metford, Maitland, Thornton, Chisholm, Morpeth, Raworth and surrounding areas.

Our beautiful and wonderfully historic centre incorporates a lovely old church built in the 1800’s, yet with a full complement of modern facilities, offering children a safe environment in which they have maximum potential to grow, learn and experience the world in a secure, stimulating, healthy and enjoyable setting. We have state or the art, refreshingly ‘natural’ age appropriate playgrounds which allows our children to experience the natural world around them and feel the grass between their toes, exploring the sensory wonders of a natural environment. Moving away from the plastic and synthetics society we have become – our playgrounds have been designed to be a wonderland of discovery through a child’s eyes. Learning for Life is a family owned and operated Private Long Day Care Education facility with a separate Preschool facility catering to the needs of children aged from birth to 12 years. Outside school hours and vacation programs are available for school aged children. We are open from 6.30am to 6.30pm, 52 weeks a year excluding gazetted public holidays. Full Meals are provided from breakfast through to late snack. All meals are prepared with the best of local produce, are fresh and are fully prepared in our onsite kitchen by our centre Chef. Menus are designed in consultation with a Child Nutritionist. Allergies and special considerations or requests can be easily catered for. Also provided are nappies, linen, sunscreen, hats and a T-shirt upon enrolment. So all you need to bring each day is yourself, your child, a spare change of clothes and a big smile.
