Discover the exciting story of flight as it unfolded at one of Australia's truly historic aerodromes. From the barnstorming days of the country's oldest regional aero club, through the WW2 RAAF flying training school and a top-secret British bomber squadron, to the post-war Qantas and gliding eras. The uniquely designed museum building, with its roof reminiscent of an airfoil, is the result of some 6,000 hours of voluntary labour by Narromine Aero Club members and others. The museum was officially opened by pioneer aviatrix Nancy-Bird Walton in October 2002. Take a day trip to remember - give us a call for further information.

Great work by the members preserving some very important early Australian history and machines. Gilgandra Museum & Historical Society Inc is a very interesting museum. You'll need a couple of hours to view everything. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but my mates and I enjoyed the history and displays.

Narrabri Fish Farm is the largest hatchery based aquaculture farm in NSW breeding Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Eel-Tailed Catfish and Yabbies. It is located just 10km from Narrabri on Jacks Creek Road. The farm is 250 acres and holds stock in 41 ponds with a total water surface area of 39,596 square metres. A bustling hub south-west of Tamworth, Werris Creek was specifically chosen by the NSW Government in 1877 to be a gateway for railway travel and trade across the region. Werris Creek thrived on the steam era from the 1870s to the 1960s, and even today retains many artefacts from that time. The Railway Journeys Museum actively conserves and exhibits railway memorabilia from electric staff instruments to miniature trains in an interactive manner for visitors to experience. Carol says this wonderful museum is a must-see when in Tamworth. There are videos showing how Werris Creek played such an important part of the history of Australia. People who are interested in it and the Australian Railways should visit this place. Carol says she's very interested in this museum since she's an Australian who lives abroad. She wants to see how much the Werris Creek township played such a vital part of the history and this site should be promoted more. Carol says they've got wonderful volunteers too.
