He has trained as a general and abdominal surgeon and then sub specialised in the field of urological surgery. He has also received Postgraduate surgical training in Germany. Dr Katelaris has received numerous awards for his practice, including the prestigious Noel Newton medal from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He also received the Keith Kirkland Prize from the Australian and New Zealand Urological Society.
