Ungooroo offers the only dedicated Aboriginal Health Service in Singleton. We offer GP and specialist services to the community. Our doctor and visiting specialists are dedicated to the health of the community and are here to assist with a range of medical issues. We also provide dental and other complementary services such as physiotherapy, optometry and dietary advice from a qualified dietician. Singleton Doctors is a well established practice that has been in Singleton for nearly 8 years. Dr. Akram recently purchased the business and is looking forward to further developing the practice in the future. We are conveniently located on the outside of the Singleton Square Shopping Complex (accessible from John Street) and open 7 days a week. For your convenience we offer an online appointment booking system and provide access to both female and male GP’s. Our practice has been accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL). We meet all the guidelines and practice standards established by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Church Street Medical Centre opened in April 2008, a collaboration between four doctors and two managers. We remain privately owned with five of the original owners still working here today. Over the years we have grown as a practice and currently have seven part time GPs, full time practice nurse support and many allied health practitioners. Being an ownership group of all women we started the practice to not only provide excellent health care to our community but to recognise and support the need for work/life balance in our workplace. We pride ourselves on achieving this which is reflected, we think in the longevity of service of our staff and doctors, most of which have been with us from the beginning. We are independently assessed and accredited by AGPAL, with a keen interest in ongoing quality improvement and initiatives.

Appointments can be made at any time of the day via phone/answer machine or email. You will normally be able to book an appointment on the day you call, particularly if your health issue requires urgent attention. Home visits are available for Dr William Redmayne's regular clients who are unable to attend the medical practice because of their medical condition. Home visits, including those for people in Aged Care Facilities, are regularly done by Dr Redmayne either during or after practice hours. Home visits can be organised via calling our receptionist. A 15km radius of Cessnock is the usual limit for home visits but longer distances can be catered for at the Doctors discretion. If you need to see a Doctor when the practice is closed then please ring 02 4990 2533 and listen to the recorded message, detailing the name and contact details for the Doctor one call, AND/OR go directly to CESSNOCK HOSPITAL 02 4991 0555 and nursing staff will organise for you to see the GP on call.
