Australia’s Food Bowl, AKA the Riverina region, is a wine, food and nature lover’s paradise. While CBD regions may boast glamorous hotels, the Riverina offers once-in-a-lifetime farm stays, luxury cottages and historial house estates. Of course, there are plenty of hotels and motels in the Riverina for traditionalists.
Known as the agricultural region of South-Western New South Wales, it is one of the country’s main suppliers of citrus fruits. Growers are predominantly located in Leeton, Griffith and Hillston. Just outside of Griffith in Hanwood is the Catania Fruit Salad Farm. This farm is said to be one of the oldest in the area and gives travellers and locals the chance to sample fresh produce and farm life.
