Since 1990 the Leisa Payne School of Dance has been training and supporting the future of dance in Mackay and surrounding regions. We aim to provide every child with the tools, knowledge and understanding they need to excel at all dance styles. Our fully qualified teaching staff offers a range of traditional styles including ballet, tap and jazz as well as complementary classes such as acrobatics, Pilates and yoga. Leisa Payne School of Dance suited for all ages and skill sets with our teachers accommodating from ages 3 right up to high school advanced classes. All teachers are constantly updating their knowledge to provide the students with the best possible tuition, while encouraging and nurturing the joy of dance. I would recommend this dance school to anyone seeking a career in dance Nationally or Internationally, or even just for something you enjoy doing. I am a professional contemporary ballet theatre dancer, now living in Europe dancing with one of the most prestigious ballet companies in Paris, France, and England UK. I would not have been here today if it wasn't for this amazing dance studio pointing me in the right direction. I just wanted to thank all the beautiful kind staff for all you have done, and i can easily say, this is the best dance studio in Mackay. Love Zeak x

We have Hot Yoga in heated rooms and Power Yoga for strength and fitness, Tots, Kids' and Teen Yoga, as well as prenatal yoga, school bookings and private bookings. For busy mums, we have babysitting facilities available so you don't have to miss out on your hour of bliss. Group and corporate bookings are available and we welcome everyone to our studio. All our teachers are qualified and are happy to help you correct your poses and offer guidance and advice throughout each session. After just one Mackay Yoga Fix class, you'll feel as though you're walking on air and your body will feel more supple and free. Our emotional resilience as human beings can be sorely challenged depending on the nature and number of stressors we are dealing with at any given time. If you find yourself at times feeling somewhat challenged you may experience unease, restlessness, even a range of emotions, perhaps you are struggling with strong emotions now. You may find it difficult to navigate how you are feeling at such times with the skills you have. Some help to further your inner life skills to cultivate emotional resilience may be beneficial. The program supports and guides participants to learn fundamental clear steps in the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness guides us to deepen awareness ... recognising what is happening in our inner world - body, heart and mind ... cultivating a kind and compassionate presence with our experience ... With patience and persistence, as we deepen into this quality of presence we are resourced with the strength and courage to meet life's difficulties, be with strong emotions, challenging body sensations and we notice how our mind is perceiving, thinking in ways that are both helpful and unhelpful. With this awareness we have access to choosing how we respond to the life of the moment as we experience it. Mindful of our experience in this way, with practice we are increasingly able to remain calm and less identified with perceptions, opinions, expectations, thoughts and emotions. We are also able to choose, to be less identified with unhelpful patterns of thinking, emotion and responding, and we are freer to perceive, feel and respond to ourselves, to life, with greater wisdom, compassion and creativity. There's opportunity for personal reflection and group discussion on integrating mindfulness into everyday life.
