Aikido literally means 'The Way of Harmony and Spirit'. Aikido is basically a combination of Jujitsu and Aiki which relies on movement. My name is Sensei Darrin Beashel and I have trained in Aikido for 10 years and have been instructing for over 6 years. I now run Warroir Martial Arts School where I instruct Aikido in conjunction with weaponry as it enhances the empty hand techniques. I run a mixed 2hr session, first half is weapons Kata and pairs practise with Boken, Shinai and Jo. Then we train in Aikido techniques from various forms of attack. We train in a fully equipped Dojo (training hall) with 90 square metres of matted softfall area, all in a tranquil bush setting. Chief Instructor of Bayside Martial Arts (Renshi Amanda 4th Dan) graded through the ranks and did all her training under the strict guidance of our Grand Master.
