Every year on the second Saturday in May, more than a thousand people compete in the Byron Bay Triathalon.
Cape Byron, the headland just south of the township of Byron Bay, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia and is home to the famous Byron Bay lighthouse. With a scoping view of the ocean and a rich history, the Byron Bay lighthouse is a popular place to visit when visiting this historic town.
